Luis Arroyo, new member of the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences of France

On Monday, December 2, Professor Luis Arroyo Zapatero, a member of the Columbus Board of Directors between 2003 and 2005, under the watchful eye of Montesquieu and Voltaire, among others, was formally accepted as a member of the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences of France.

Prof. Arroyo is a specialist in International Criminal Law, president of the International Society for Social Defense, is also founder and director of the Institute of European and International Criminal Law. He is honorary rector of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, of which he has been founding Rector. Among his many activities, he has given particular attention to comparative law and legal globalization in relation to the international abolition of the death penalty. His performance has been decisive for the approval of a new Spanish legislation against femicide. Congratulations dear Professor Arroyo!
