This is an international recognition attributed only to institutions that guarantee compliance and the application of best environmental practices in their internal processes.

Since 2017, the Columbus Association together with experts from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, accompanied both the ISCTE-IUL and the University of Aveiro in the conception, development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems that laid the foundations for ISCTE -IUL's certification.
