Columbus at the CILAC 2016 Forum

The Columbus Association participated in the I Latin American and Caribbean Open Science Forum organized by:  the Latin America and the Caribbean UNESCO’s Regional Office of Science, Montevideo office; the National Agency for Innovation and Research (ANII),  the Universidad de la República (UDELAR) and the Grupo Montevideo University Association (AUGM).

The Open Access to the science is one of the priorities in the international public policies for development of science, research and innovation. As a part of the Open Science strategy is endorsed by the government’s projects and promoted by the researchers, scientific associations, information scientists and universities. 

The panel of experts included: Ida Holz Bard UDELAR Profesor, lider on the Internet development. Member of the Agencia de Sociedad de la Información de Uruguay, ex-president of the RedClara; Clara Eugenia García President of ERAC Standing Group on Open Science and Open Innovation and Subdirectora General de Coordinación, Planificación y Seguimiento, de la Secretaría de Estado de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación del Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad de España; Francisco Sagasti scientific development policies specialist; ex-Executive Director of the FORO Nacional/Internacional; and Manuel Heitor, Minister of Science Technology and High Education of Portugal.
